Rental terms
The rental terms, in plain language

- Two days minimum. You can book for two days or longer.
- No deposit. You sign a rental agreement before you drive off, and you’re responsible for any damage while the cart is with you.
- Inside the estate, by the estate’s rules. The carts stay inside Zimbali, on roads, driveways and cart paths, never out of the gates or on a public road. Licensed drivers only, at no more than 25 km/h, as the estate’s rules require.
- Back on the agreed day. Like checking out of a hotel, the cart goes back on the day we agreed. A late return fee applies after that.
- If it breaks down, we swap it. WhatsApp us and we’ll bring another cart as quickly as we can.
- EFT or cash. We don’t take cards. Our bank details come to you privately on WhatsApp or email, never on this website.
- No extra fees. No delivery, cleaning or charging fees. The only extra is the late return fee.
- Rates aren’t on the website. WhatsApp us your dates and we’ll send them.

Questions people ask
Who can drive the cart?
Anyone in your group with a valid driver’s licence. Children can ride along with an adult but mustn’t drive.
Do I need a licence or ID?
We don’t need a copy of your ID. Zimbali’s estate rules do say every golf cart driver must hold a valid driver’s licence, so only licensed drivers may drive the cart.
Where can I drive it?
On the estate’s roads, driveways and cart paths, at no more than 25 km/h, which is the estate’s limit for carts. Never outside the gates or on a public road, and keep off the fairways unless the golf club has said you can.
Can we take it to the beach or the restaurants?
Yes, as long as you stay on roads and paths inside the estate where carts are allowed, and park in the marked spots.
How far ahead should I book?
Any time there’s a cart free. There are only three, though, so if you’re coming in December or the school holidays, it’s worth messaging early.
How much is it, and how do I pay?
Rates aren’t on the website. WhatsApp us your dates and we’ll send them. You can pay by EFT or in cash. We send our bank details privately once we’ve confirmed your cart, and we don’t take card payments.
What if the cart breaks down?
WhatsApp us and we’ll swap in another cart as quickly as we can. Please don’t try to fix it yourself.
Are you part of the Zimbali estate?
No. We’re an independent business that rents carts to people staying at Zimbali. We’re not part of, or endorsed by, the Zimbali Estate Management Association (ZEMA), the Zimbali Lakes Resort Management Association (ZLRMA), The Capital Zimbali or Zimbali Lodge.
